Radha Govind Prachar Samagri (RGPS) is concerned about the safety and security of its online users' information. Accordingly, a number of technological protection measures are in place on www.jkpliterature.org.in intended to ensure that the transaction process is safe and that customer information is secure. RGPS does not store your financial information on their servers. Industry standard encryption protocol known as Secure Socket Layer (SSL) is followed for all such information entered by you. However, when buying on any online venue, caution must always be taken. Some guidelines that you should follow to ensure a safe and secure online shopping experience are listed below.
Safety and Security Tips
- Protect your passwords
- If you are using a public computer or terminal, always log out when you complete an online session.
- Keep your passwords private. Remember, anybody who knows your password can access your account.
- When creating a valid password, use letters and numbers only and it should be 6-15 characters long. A combination of letters and numbers is best. Do not use dictionary words, your name, email addresses or other personal information that can be easily obtained. It is recommended that you frequently change your password.
- Avoid using the same password for multiple online accounts.
- Be wary of unsolicited email and telephone contact
- RGPS will not email or call a customer to ask that they disclose or verify their password, credit card or banking account number. Such information should only be submitted on the web page forms when completing an online order or when making updates to your account, and never over the phone or email. If you receive a suspicious email with a link to update your account information, do not click on the link. Instead go directly to the website and then to your account.
- If you are contacted by or receive an unsolicited email from an unknown entity impersonating RGPS or any of its associates, and you are asked to confirm or provide your password, personal or banking information, simply disregard the request and report the incident to RGPS for investigation.
- Customers are advised to review their order and shipment confirmation emails to ensure that they are legitimate and have been sent by RGPS. To do this, simply cross-reference the confirmation emails with the transaction history found in your account area. If you receive a shipment confirmation email for a transaction you have not done, report the incident to RGPS.
- Never disclose any confidential information such as a password in any communication with us or with any of our employees. RGPS will not ask for such information over email or by phone.
- If you receive an email asking for personal details such as your password never respond to it.
- A phishing email will normally have a tone of urgency. For example, "Your account will be temporarily suspended" and therefore, "Login to keep your account active." Please note that RGS will NEVER send you such emails.
- If you doubt the credibility of an email attributed to RGPS, DO NOT click on any link provided in it. This may trigger malicious codes being installed on your PC. Report the incident to RGPS.
- If you discover a fake RGPS website, please report it to RGPS.
- Ensure your Personal Computer is Protected
- Fraudsters send genuine-looking emails that contain viruses and trojans. A trojan refers to a programme that appears to be safe, but hidden inside is something harmful to your computer like a virus. These viruses or trojans install a malicious code on your PC without your knowledge. They can extract your confidential information that can be used to access your online profile/account etc.
