Faith is compulsory and surrendering to a genuine guru is also compulsory. The combination of these two will take you to God. Just as you need eyes and light to see, you need genuine faith and a genuine guru to realise God. If both are in your life at the same time, then there is no doubt that they will take you to God-realisation ...
Sensing the needs of the current generation, Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj modified his style of discourse to ingeniously present the philosophy of the Vedas, Puranas, Upanishads, Brahma Sutra, and so on, in just two lines of poetry. He then revealed the profound knowledge within them, explaining subjects such as the meaning of spirituality, why we are in the pursuit of happiness, the benefit of meditation, and why bhakti is the only path to everlasting happiness. Kripaluji later termed these couplets Kripalu Bhakti Dhara, and this is the first three volumes in the series.
There are 180 couplets with their respective explanations from May 2005 to the end of 2006. Topics include the importance of faith in God and guru, the aim of human life, the practice of bhakt yoga, the meaning of devotion and meditation, the nature of God, the world and the soul, the qualities of Radha Krishna, and so on. This collection is testimony to the depth of wisdom in his two-lined creations, and his unabating scriptural omniscience.
