‘Kripalu Sudha Ras’ is the biography of Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj as narrated by Sushri Braj Banchary Ji. Braj Banchary Didi Ji is one of the senior most preachers of Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj (lovingly addressed as Maharaj Ji by his devotees).
The first volume begins with a few of her poetic compositions in adoration of Shri Maharaj Ji and his lotus feet. They are an aide in increasing Guru-Bhakti and give an idea of his divine sweetness. The pastimes begin with the divine aura and incidents surrounding Shri Maharaj Ji’s birth. Then it goes on to detail events from early childhood days to his youth. The book gives glimpses of various roles Shri Maharaj Ji played such as that of an ideal son, playful child, classmate and friend. It talks about times spent with Aaji (His mother), who was an epitome of innocence, and his close bond with her. As a classmate and a friend, at times he playfully revealed his divine nature. Many of his predictions from that time have come to be true since. As a student, he bewildered his teachers by his vast expanse of knowledge.
The first volume details an enthralling transformation of his external leelas. These included deep meditative practices, travels in the Chitrakoot jungles as a paramhams, to the downpour of his grace on everyone alike. He lived with many devotees like a close family member and uplifted them through his divine presence. The book gives a detailed account of events leading to the historic bestowment of the title of Jagadguruttam.
Shri Maharaj Ji generously bestowed the knowledge of true devotion throughout his life through his pastimes as well as formal lectures.
The second volume of Kripalu Sudha Ras begins with details of the first Sadhana Shivir (camp) held at Brahmand Ghat in 1965, on the banks of the Yamuna. From this time onwards, Shri Maharaj Ji focused on teaching the golden rules for sadhana to uplift the downtrodden souls of Kaliyuga. Also, the intensity of the divine association in the camp leaves the reader deeply yearning to have been present in those times.
The book provides several instances where Shri Maharaj Ji's positive influence inspired people to grow spiritually and devotionally. He inspired people to put aside their personal comfort and aid in the construction of the first two Sadhana Halls in Mangarh, and Shyama Shyam Dham in Vrindavan. The book also describes how Shri Maharaj ji would join others in physical labor during construction of those buildings.
This book describes how Shri Maharaj Ji inspired everyone to put the deepest knowledge of the Vedas into practice. He infused love and dedication in the hearts of ordinary satsangis and manifested that love in the form of these gorgeous, divine temples and sadhana halls. The intensity of devotion felt by devotees in these Sadhana Halls is indescribable.
There are several accounts of Shri Maharaj Ji’s profound influence on dozens of people. This led them to dedicate their lives to spread his message of divine love, as pracharaks. Shri Maharaj Ji himself traveled to the west and the book documents the memories that were imprinted in the hearts and minds of devotees.
Shri Maharaj Ji’s heart ached for the downtrodden, and he started many outreach programs which are still underway under his continued, invisible patronage. Here you can read about the various hospitals and educational institutions he started for the weakest sections of the society.
The descriptions of the foundation laying ceremonies and inauguration are divine and enchanting. Heart wrenching accounts of Shri Maharaj Ji’s and Amma Ji’s (his wife) ascension to Golok are also detailed in this volume, along with some miraculous incidents surrounding them.
This book is a treasure trove of Shri Maharaj Ji’s leelas and a MUST-read for those who want to know Shri Maharaj Ji and progress on the spiritual path to attain the ultimate bliss - the bliss of Maharaas.
