Solving the mystery surrounding the divine lilas of Krishna, who is the ocean of infinite happiness, beauty, and sweetness, is beyond the capability of any material mind and intellect. The Lord's pastimes are played out on the highest platform of transcendental love, and none are greater than those amorous pastimes with His inseparable associates, the gopis of Braj, together with His most intimate power, who imparts bliss to himself and to His devotees, Shri Radha. About 5,000 years ago, Radha Krishna bestowed this highest and sweetest form of divine happiness - bliss that is infinite in quantity, divine in nature, and remains for eternity - to their topmost devotees during the maharaas.

Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj elucidates the importance of the Bhagavatam in this series of ten discourses, explaining what transpired before, during and after maharaas, the most esoteric of all subjects in spirituality. Kripalu Ji Maharaj has taken this subject of devotion and meditation and revealed its subtleties in an extraordinary way. Using understandable language and simple logic, Kripaluji systematically explains events as they unfold in the Bhagavatam, authenticating his point with the relevant quotation.

अनन्त सौन्दर्य माधुर्य सुधासिन्धु बलबंधु श्री कृष्ण की दिव्य लीलाओं के रहस्य को कौन समझ सकता है? अप्राकृत प्रेम राज्य के परमोन्नत स्तर पर हुई रसमयी लीलायें प्राकृत बुद्धि से सर्वथा अज्ञेय हैं। जिस प्रकार भगवान् चिन्मय हैं उसी प्रकार उनकी लीला भी चिन्मय होती है। विशेषरूपेण अपनी ही अन्तरंगा अभिन्न स्वरूपा गोपियों के साथ मधुर लीला तो दिव्यातिदिव्य और सर्वगुह्यतम है।

लगभग 5000 वर्ष पूर्व प्रणत चित्तचोर, रसिक सिरमौर ब्रजेन्द्रनन्दन एवं उनकी ही ह्लादिनी शक्ति, नित्य निकुंजेश्वरी, रासेश्वरी श्री राधा रानी ने अधिकारी, जीवों को सर्वोच्च कक्षा का रस वितरित किया था, जिसे महारास कहते हैं। महालक्ष्मी जो भगवान् की अनिादिकालीन पत्नी हैं उनको भी यह रस नहीं मिला। यह रस सर्वथा अनिर्वचनीय है।

प्रस्तुत पुस्तक में इस अनिर्वचनीय विषय पर प्रकाश डाला गया है। वस्तुत: यही समझना कठिन है कि रास क्या है, फिर उसमें किस प्रकार प्रवेश मिल सकता है इत्यादि और भी गूढ़ विषय है। आचार्य श्री ने इसे अत्यधिक सरल भाषा में समझाया है।

पुस्तक के रूप में यह प्रवचन शृंखला प्रस्तुत की जा रही है। यद्यपि आचार्य श्री की दिव्यवाणी श्रवण का तो लाभ अवर्णनीय ही है लेकिन पुस्तक की अपनी विशेषता अलग है। ‘आवृत्ति रसकृदुपदेशात्’ शास्त्रोक्ति के अनुसार साधक बार बार पुस्तक अध्ययन द्वारा तत्त्वज्ञान पक्का कर सकता है।

सभी साधकों के लिए यह अत्यन्त महत्वपूर्ण विषय है और भक्ति साधना में परम सहायक है।
